How to Clean Stainless Steel in The Kitchen

Cleaning Stainless Steel

In today’s kitchens, stainless steel appliances and even counter tops are very common and are easier to keep clean than many may think. Even with this being the case, the question remains, how to clean stainless steel.

Some will say to use nothing more than soap and water while others may suggest using vinegar. The truth of the matter is both will work to a degree depending on how much grease, grime, fingerprints and water spots are on the surface.

With seven years in the cleaning industry and after having tried several methods and products I have found what I feel is the best answer to, how to clean stainless steel.

Don’t be afraid of using commercial cleaning chemicals on your stainless appliances. As long as the one choose is designed to clean stainless steel, it should not harm the surface. Of course, as always, follow the manufacture’s directions.

The products I suggest using are first, a degreaser, preferably a citrus-based product in a ready-to-use formula. This reduces the chances of mixing a concentrate too strong. Then use an aerosol stainless steel cleaner, which will polish the surface. Using these two products will leave you appliances and stainless surfaces looking like new.
